Compostable wristbands – a green and groovy way to enter our gardens

Got your tickets for Creative Harvest 2024? Go you!

This year, a flick of your wrist will get you into our gardens. Thanks to a super suggestion from one of our Creative Harvest 2023 visitors, we’ve devised an earth-friendly way to streamline our entry system.

Sourcing sustainable wristbands

Traditional wristbands favoured by events everywhere are mostly single-use and made with polluting plastics. And even the ones labelled ‘recyclable’ will likely meet their end in energy-intensive commercial facilities. As Creative Harvesters dedicated to sustainability, we had to find an eco-friendly wristband solution.

Hello, The Wristband Co.

Our research led us to The Wristband Co, an innovative Australian-made and owned company offering 100% compostable, recyclable, and biodegradable wristbands. Their 'go green' bands fit our bill to a tee. They’re functional and customisable (more on that in a moment). They’re also absolutely aligned with our event ethos.

Sustainable and stylish

Our Creative Harvest Committee design gurus, Kristy Plumridge and Breanna Tepper

have added gorgeous event graphics that turn your functional accessory into an event keepsake. Take a sneak peek

How it works

Present your ticket at your first garden and receive a wristband for each adult in your group.

Showing your wristband to the garden gate volunteers will give you seamless entry. For attendees under 16, admission is free, and they won't need a wristband.

Wet wear warning: Your 100% recyclable wristband may show signs of wear if soaked for extended periods. So, if you’re wearing it all weekend, think about taking shorter water-saving showers! If you need to replace it, simply show your ticket at the gate, and our volunteers will issue you a new one.

How to dispose of your wristband

You may decide to keep your creatively crafted wristband as a memento of a wonderful weekend spent exploring inspiring edible gardens, eating delectable food, and meeting amazing creatives. If not, as a shout-out to The Wristband Co., who share our commitment to living lightly on planet Earth, we’d encourage you to dispose of your wristbands responsibly. The wristbands are designed to return to the earth in an eco-friendly manner by being chopped up and tossed into compost, green bins or recycling bins.

Spread the word

We owe a great green debt of thanks to our 2023 Creative Harvest visitor, who set us off on the search for compostable wristbands. If you attend events or festivals where single-use plastics proliferate, why not build on Creative Harvest’s initiative by pointing the organisers at The Wristband Co.
