Green Hills Farm
Green Hills Farm is a labour of love for Kristy and Neil Plumridge. In 2015 they bought 150 acres of neglected, weed-strewn farmland. Now they grow grass-fed beef and garlic. A flourishing orchard and veggie garden feeds their family and supplies local cafes and restaurants.
Follow the garden’s evolution on ABC Dream Gardens.
In our food garden
A ‘fruit salad’ orchard of 60 trees, including heritage apples, pears, plums, cherries, almonds, and avocados. A constant supply of winter and summer greens along with seasonal produce such as tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, and pumpkins.
Standout sustainable practices
Nourishing our raised veggie beds with worm castings, chicken manure, and compost. Saving and propagating our own seeds.
Top tip for novice gardeners
Don’t be scared to ask experienced gardeners for help and support.
Look out for
The wood fire pizza oven, made from local quarry Mt Speed stone and bricks from the original house chimney.
For sale on the day
We will have some plants, veggies and garlic from our garden for sale.
