Treasured Perennials at The Farm
Kerrie and Ben Brooker started their garden 5 years ago and have been on a regenerative journey to grow nutritional food by using biodynamic methods to create healthy soils.
The property is 6 acres with about 1 and a ½ acres of ornamental garden and a large vegetable garden at the rear of the house. The orchard has over 30 trees and growing in varieties.
In our food garden
As the food we purchase from the supermarket has little nutritional value, try to grow as much fresh food as possible.
We cook fresh and freeze what we can to have enough food for the off season. At the same time, we do like to share what we produce with friends.
We try to live out of our garden, so any meal we have where most or all the veggies, fruit or herbs have been produced from our garden, is very fulfilling.
Standout sustainable practices
Using biodynamics and creating diversity in the biome world of microbes and fungi.
Top tip for novice gardeners
Avoid pesticides, fungicide & herbicide and ask questions from whomever you can, as gardeners love to share their knowledge.
Look out for
We produce our own microbial fertilisers (we will have the recipes to share).
