A shout-out to our Creative Harvest 2024 sponsors

What do a gumboot maker, a garden hire company, an art gallery, a network of green-fingered, sustainability supporters, a community bank and a local shire have in common?

They’ve joined forces with us.

Meet our generous sponsors. Marvel at their business nous, community cred and rock-solid commitment to doing good for people and the planet.

We invite you to support and celebrate them in every way you can.

Drum roll please …. And a huge hooray for…

Merry People

‘Merry People represents finding what makes you feel happy and alive. Putting your gumboots on, finding your own unique adventure, embracing the unknown and enjoying the journey.’

Dani Holloway, Founder and fabulous gumboot maker

South Gippsland-born farmer’s daughter Dani Holloway was keen to add a dollop of creativity to her corporate working life. Creating a classy urban version of the gumboots she’d grown up in turned out to be just the ticket. Merry Boots are equally at home in a Melbourne boardroom or a muddy paddock.

Merry People started out as a small but sensational farmer’s market adventure. Now there’s a beautiful online store and 68 stockists in Australia and across the ditch. Grounded by values of ‘authenticity, kindness, adventure and happiness,’ Merry People is a sustainably managed, community-focussed force for good. It’s also the source of the most amazing gumboots ever to grace your grateful (dry and cosy) feet.

Brilliant gumboots

Here’s your ‘spoilt for choice’ alert!

Seventeen colours, four styles.

Lavender and navy, lime and olive, chestnut and ice blue … and around a dozen other delectable options. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Plus clogs, sox, umbrellas, and a rain hat.

Baw Baw Shire Council

The Creative Harvest Team and the Baw Baw Sustainability Network (BBSN) are immensely grateful to the Baw Baw Shire Council for awarding us a Community Grant to support our vibrant website and flourishing social media presence.

Baw Baw Shire Council would be a useful model for any local government authority looking for inspiration on how best to support a vibrant community.

A quick squizz at their website, Facebook page or YouTube channel will show you the depth and breadth of the Council’s commitment to supporting sustainable, environmental and social programs that make a genuine difference for people and the planet.

Baw Baw Sustainability Network (BBSN)

‘An independent not-for-profit group bridging the gap between talk and action on sustainable living.’

Creative Harvest is one of the many marvellous ways the BBSN ‘bridges the gap between talk and action on sustainable living.’ Because our edible food gardening event has its grassroots firmly planted in the fertile hearts and minds of the BBSN members – without them, we wouldn’t be here.

Since 2007, the BBSN has worked tirelessly and creatively to achieve three principal goals.

  • Helping Gippslanders have more energy-efficient homes and businesses. BBSN offers energy audits, project planning, and managing to retrofit energy-efficient, draft-proofing modifications.

  • Championing food gardening for sustainable living via a gardening group and regular workshops and, of course … holding Creative Harvest

  • Advocating for sustainable living practices by lobbying all levels of government and informing and educating the local community.
